sparky256DSL
I tried about 6 months ago to have a couple (3-5) late payments removed from my student loans. The loans are in forbearance and the paperwork to renew the forbearance came due and I was moving and paperwork got messed up....well you get the point. So I thought I was still on forbearance and then a couple months later I find out that I was not. Well I sent in the renewal paperwork as soon as I could and then checked my reports and sure enough late payments (30, 60, and 90 days). I worte them a letter and asked if we could do something about this since I was granted a forbearance for that time period and they responded with "That's not our policy". So today I wrote another letter and I kind of hinted around about "helping" out and the current economy and such. I then I asked if they could fix this up for me. I'm assuming they will say the same thing but I thought it was worth a shot.

I consolidated my loans with them and then disputed the one with the late payments. When you consolidate, it is now a new loan and Sallie Mae did not dispute my dispute on the closed loan. It may be work a shot for you. It currently shows "Account paid satisfactorily"
sparky256DSL
I thought of that but I'm afraid they will take the loans completely off my report and I will lose history. It has been my luck. I contacted a car loan that had a prefect pay history and a credit card and asked that they rereport to ALL CRAs, they were only reporting to two of them, and they deleted the accounts instead....I guess that is what happens when you get greedy
