Letter From Winn Law Group

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon, this is my first time to this site.

I have had issues with my credit for years, and I would like to slowly try to fix it if possible.

I got a letter on the 9th regarding an account that's at over 6 grand (half of it is interest) The letter stated that if I didn't resolve it within 10 days they could take me to court. I just called the collection agency and they referred me to the law firm.

My question is, do I have any options? What can I expect when I call them? I don't have 6 grand to pay them, and I feel sick thinking I have to pay 3 grand in interest.

Welcome to the forum! You have made the right step by first recognizing that you need to do something with this letter. The very first step is to read the "sticky's" in the various sections of this forum. For your particular situation, I would start with Debt Validation (DV) because you need to respond right away to this letter you have received.

They will sue you. I'm about 4 months ahead of you. When they do sue you, Be sure to follow the advice from this forum and defend yourself. There is lots of great help here. Whatever you do, don't let them get a default judgement. Also, If they haven't served you, DV them right away! I was too late for that, I had already been served. But I think, reading here, that is supposed to stop the litigation process until validation is completed. Good Luck!!
