GW Worked!...Kind of...Now I need to know what to do

I have 2 year old, paid collection with CMI over a Time Warner Cable Box that my roommate never returned. The collection shows up as being from Comcast on my TU report and TW on EQ and EX. I originally had an account with TW. Here is what I have done in the GW process:

Round 1 (~2.5 months ago): sent GW letter to CMI- Nothing

Round 2 (~2 months ago): sent GW letter to CMI- On my TU report, it showed up as customer disputes and verified by CMI in the notes section. (I never disputed with TU). CMI sent me a letter saying the account was reported as paid (which it always was). They also sent me the address of the collections department at Comcast (whom I am assuming have taken over for TW in that area).

Round 3 (~1.5 months ago): sent a GW letter to the comcast address.- Nothing

Round 4 (~1 month ago): Sent GW letter to comcast, CMI ATTN: a specific individual at CMI, and an address for a high ranking individual at TW.

Now, I never heard anything from anyone as the result of the fourth round of GW letters. However, about 2 weeks ago, the collection was gone from EX! Now, I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I'm not sure which of the letters I sent reached the right individual. I would obviously like to get this removed from EQ and TW WITHOUT the risk of this being reinserted on EX. Should I just resend the fourth round letters and hope for the best, wait, or something else?

I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks to the advice I have recieved here, I have raised my scores nearly 50 points each. Thanks in advance.

My understanding, and I may be mistaken, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, buy Time Warner and Comcast are considered "telecommunication" companies and can only report for 2 years give or take. I don't remember which code it falls under right now, but don't be surprised to see another collection agency start trying to collect.

This is a follow up to a post I made previously regarding a GW success with a paid Time Warner/Comcast collection I had with CMI. The collection has now been deleted from all 3 CRAs, and I got a letter from CMI stating that Comcast had told them to remove the collection.

I now know my successful letter was one of the two I sent to Comcast. As background, I originally had an account with TW, and apparently Comcast took over for TW in the area. The OC was still reporting as TW on 2 of my reports and Comcast on one. Anyone who has a CMI collection from comcast may benefit from sending a GW to comcast collections, especially if the account was originally from another cable company.

The best advice I received was not getting discouraged if one letter didn't work. I sent close to 10 GW letters to multiple individuals before one reached the right person. I hope someone else finds this info useful.
