Lordstanley1
Hello to all on this great site once again, I am going to settle (before trial) with the CA that is suing me over a credit card debt. We have agreed on financial terms, and also that they will report the account as paid in full after payment has cleared. My question is, what is the best thing for me regarding the reporting of this transaction? Is a paid in full status sufficient, or can I have them completely remove this from the credit bureaus? I'm just not savy enough to know what to demand. Thanks in advance
swirlgirl
You would want to request a full deletion. Having it show as paid does nothing for your credit score.
Lordstanley1
Thanks Swirl, I knew it was something simple, yet could not think of it.
sj145
One more thing make sure you get everything you discussed with them in writing or no deal.
momof5
Be very careful. A paid collection is just as bad as an unpaid one. Also, many will attempt to get you to sign a consent judgment. NO! on that! I had a previous HOA file a case against me. The agreement was, I pay by the following terms and the case is dismissed. Done. In writing. No judgment and no collection acct on the CB.
