pursuit
I have a lease collection from 2003 on my report and Genesys Credit Management is the CA listed. When I look them up on the state license site, it tells me that the license expired in 2004. However, the owner has some dba's with a license on HOLD. Can this guy actively collect? or is it time to throw down?
red1gtrubodsm
they have no grounds to collect in the state of WA without the license. Print out the query form from the dept. of licensing showing they arent licensed and keep it for your records. If they do attempt to collect, you can sue for up to $2,000 and a juge can awar treble damages. This law is good "leverage" to get a deletion as well, if thats what you are looking for. I personally have used this law with great success
pursuit
Thanks. So just a lil refresher...if I have disputed with the CRA's and Genesys validated and kept their info on my report, that counts as collection activity right? That's what I think. File a complaint through the Attorney General's office. Thats what I did with A$$et when they came after me. the AG put an end to them quicklike here in WA
