legal_loansharking
I have received 3 seperate summons for court for various Asset Acceptance accounts. Two were right around the same time. I notified the courts of my intent to defend as required in PA. Within 2 weeks after receiving a copy of the letter they send to Asset's attorney, I receive a withdrawl notice. After Asset spending 90.00 twice for 2 seperate suits, they cancel the suits. Approx 2 weeks ago, I received another summons for a different account, called the courts to let them know I am going to defend, and I received another withdrawl this week.It appears they are looking for a default judgment and have nothing at all to back up their claims. This third acct was still within SOL. I thought here we go... and nothing to worry about.
Denita
Thank you for the tip on Asset Acceptance. It is probably with other CA's too - with so many in default now they are just playing the numbers assuming most will allow the default judgment....but not CIC'ers! Thanks again.
