vinceblack
did method of verification on a couple of judgements. csc deleted but the other two claimed the courthouse was the furnisher of the info. I talked to the local courthouse and they said they did not report that information. I am a little confused on how to proceed. As far as I can tell they are lying about getting the info from the courthouse. Thanks in advance. Vince.
momof5
Courthouses do not report directly to CRAs nor do they respond to disputes. Lexis Nexus is the source of most court reportings. The CRA sends the dispute to LN who verifies. They are data miners at courthouses.Once you have a public record, it takes a great deal of effort to get rid of it....including an ITS to the CRAs when it is NOT valid. So what happens when it is? You are basically stuck with it. What is it that you found inaccurate?
Ahntara
Just to reiterate...Public Records of many legal actions are kept at your local courthouse. Marriages, births, lawsuits and transfer (title/deed) of property. Once a judgment is granted against you, the Public Record is open to viewing by anyone.Yes, the CRA's are hesitant to reveal the exact means by which they obtain and verify PR's. But the fact still remains that your judgment can be easily by found by a trip to the Records Department or, possibly, by an online search. vinceblack
I understand all that about public records. I guess under the fcra they are supposed to reveal the furnisher of the informatiion and they are refusing to do so. Is the next step a proposed settlement offer and then off to federal court? Now I completely understand that the information is true. I am not disputing the validity of the information. I do want to know who they are getting there information from.
