henry1018
I have an unscrupulous sub-contractor that placed a mechanic's lien on the house I just built. I received a letter from an attorney yesterday.2 KEY THINGS ABOUT THIS--- It's easy to prove that the 120 days had long passed before it was filed ( law in MN)- He has no contract he could prove I entered into and I could get an affidavit from the plumber who actually did the work.Anyone have advice as to what to say or not say?? For example, should I ask to see a contract and say nothing more??I also plan to sue him because in the work that I did pay him to do, he did not install a part that I did pay almost 400 dollars for. Maybe a letter to the attorney first would be wise??Thanks guys!!!!
Tazjeepcj7
You should check and see if a license is requried for the work the subcontractor performed, and if the subcontractor has any required license...
