andres99pony
I was served on a judgment @ my place of work. At the headquarters, not directly to me. Basically, the papers were served to someone @ the front desk, and reached me via company communications. Is that proper serving? I didn't fight that case, and as a result, had $1600 garnished. Now I want to see if I can backtrack and get some of that money back.Any suggestions or info for me? I don't know if they did things right.
swirlgirl
Check your state laws concerning service. Some states allow third parties to accept summons. The person, by accepting the summons, is saying they know you and will forward you the papers. Again, check your state laws and maybe speak to a lawyer.
