sg021
This is our proposed timeline for a new home:Sign Agreement of sale - Nov/Dec 2009Settle and move in - late summer 2010At agreement of sale, I will be working for about 3 years (plus grad school stipend for an additional year-ish). My wife will still be in school, but will have an offer of employment. She will begin working May 2010, and although my salary is good, her's will be substantially higher. So it is very crucial for qualifying for the mortgage.I talked to the home developer's financing people. They said the offer is fine to get things started, and they just need paystubs for settlement. I just wondered though, will the terms of our mortgage be negatively affected by her lack of work history? She worked as a paid intern for a couple years if that helps at all. momof5
IMHO, the stability needs to be shown on the primary income that is used to qualify. The rules are in flux so not sure how this would be viewed.
