jq26
So this morning my wife, son & I went to the mall to make a few exchanges. Everything they've been talking about on Bloomberg, CNBC, and FBN are true and then some. I took back an ugly sweater at Macy's today that was originally purchased for $40. Because of sales today, I exchanged the grandpa sweater, spent $3 more, and walked out with four sweaters. They had men's sweaters marked down from $49 to $9.99, but then they gave you another 20% off if you used your Macy's card...for a final price of $8/sweater. Carter's clothing store for my son was similar. The clothes he needed were all 75% off. They are literally giving stuff away to avoid being stuck with worthless inventory. And it doesn't look like the liquidation prices were even working. At 1pm the mall wasn't even crowded. What a change from the buy-at-all cost frenzy people have been in the past decade. JustaTexan
Oh man I love Macy's! I don't live in a large enough town to have a Macy's...lol so I shop online. I found the most beautiful bedding set for only $99, marked down from $400. I also used the online coupon code for 10% off and free shipping. Plus I used a $30 gift card from my mother, so it's like I actually only spend 40 something dollards on this amazing bedset that I needed. I was pleased.
