Greetings! I'm new to the site and I have been reading lots of threads in this forum and must say I have learn so much this past week. This is good stuff and I'm glad you have all offered your experiances and insights.

I need some clarity on a recent actions I took.

Recently (before I starting learning from this site) I pay a couple of collections. One CA was not reporting to the CRA but I had letters with 15% settlement for full and no further collection activities. This was a old CC account with a DOFD 04/02. They own the account as CC is CO closed, 0 balance. I settled. Another was for a utility which I also settled. Both have DOFD of 04/02. The question on the first one, will the CA be able to now report this to the CRA if they choose too? Will the DOFD stand on both of them as they are CA's and not OC?

thanks for your help!

Honestly, depending on your state, they could have been out of statute, but you paid them so you are done there.

The DOFDs are 04/02. Sure, they *can* put them on your CRs....if they haven't done it by now, it is unlikely that they will. Both OC and matching CAs have the SAME DOFD reporting limitation.....I would expect that whatever is currently reporting on these accts will drop off your CRs by May. If they haven't, dispute them (at that point) as obsolete.

Welcome to the board and good luck on your credit repair journey! :)++
