scorch
Now right now, I have no baddies. No BK's, no CA's and no public records.I had a wamu secured card for 8 months and an installment account for about 5 months. No late Payments. Right now, I am having trouble picking out a replacement card for the wamu secured. With my credit history, what do you guys think I would qualify for? Would it help if I bought my FICO scores? You might first try without putting up funds - just find out their proceedures. They are each different because they are owned by the members. I did walk into a credit union today inquiring about getting a credit card, but they wanted $30 to open up a "member account" and to pay a fee which I did not have. I just had my credit card.So I guess if I'd like to apply for one at that CU then I'd have to stop by an ATM and make a withdrawal.
Denita
Really the credit unions are usually very good with their limits and requirements. Most will talk to you (or you can research various sites for info) for free. The member thing is mandatory for every credit union - some have more broad membership rules than others. Read this link to find out about CU's in general: http://www.ncua.gov/AboutNCUA/historyCU.htmlThe one I belong to has only a $5 membership requirement LOL! So check around. let_it_slide
I applied for a CU card with ~650 scores and a good history for the past several years, no BK, no lates on my previous secured card (had that for ~18 mos) and I was approved the same day with a $1000 limit. I would say definitely give them a try!
scorch
Alright! I just got a call from the lady at the CU and I was approved for an unsecured card with a $500 CL. YEAYUH!I'm still waiting for a response from Chase, Pulaski and Hooters.
Denita
Congratulations! Also, when you treat a CU right they treat you right and the CLI are usually pretty generous.

I've switched over to only using my Hooters for normal purchases - it's great to finally have to use one card for my daily purchases; other CC's - auto payments.
