fdepauls
Well, just waned to say howdy to all. I know I have a long road ahead, but these forums have tons of info and hope I can put it to good use.I have been reading the results of a lot of posters, and although some have frustrating stories, I see their scores have gone up with persistent hard work. I have pulled my FICO scores (555/585/614) and see what I need to do. My goal is to be able to buy a house in the next 6 months to a year.Sadly just 5 years ago, my credit history was perfect, but a few months of bad luck has ruined my credit for years. What got me back into credit repair was a call from a CA. Sadly I paid them off a few years ago on another debt and they still had my number. They gave me a call the other day and I owed them 100$. I can pay the 100$ easily and I feel obligated to pay my debts. But, the collection is over 4 years old and inactive on my credit report. I tried to explain to the lady that I was trying to buy a house and it would help if they would agree to remove it off my credit report if I paid. I let them know that it was killing my score and I really wanted to buy a house for my family. If you were diagnosed with a terminal illness, they could care less. You would die and they would show up to your funeral and check you pockets for any change. I am very confused about the whole collections business. Their goal is to make money right? In not so many words, I pretty much agreed to pay the 100$ if they would help me with my credit report. They admitted they could do it, but they did not want to because it is old. Why do they care if it is on my credit report or not?Anyway, I know now not to talk to them on the phone. I was just stunned they would rather eat 100$ than help me out. If I was in their shoes, I would be all about clearing it off someone's report so I could make 100$. I guess it takes a special person to do that job.Am I missing something here? I am guessing it will cost them money to remove it off my report?Anyway, that’s my rant. My goal is to have all scores above 620 in 6 months. My 1st round of letters go out Monday! My 1st round of letters go out Monday!Welcome to our little corner of the world! The good thing is that now that there has been phone conversation, they must send you a dunning letter within five days. Once you get it, do NOT hesitate to send a DV letter. There are samples of these on the forums as well as on the main CIC site. Be sure to look them over and adjust them to fit your needs. Good luck with your journey. I started mine last month. I have a long way to go, especially with a BK on my CR's, but I know I can get there. A few things to keep in mind... 1. If you "sense" something isn't right - get on here and ask before you do anything else. Repairing your credit is a long process which takes mounds of patience. 2. Read, read and read some more on these forums. I can't stress that enough. 3. Document EVERYTHING... phone conversations, letters, etc. There is an excellent sticky by MadMonkey here: http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277579 I strongly suggest you print it out and use it as a tool in your credit repair. I have purchased items on there that I didn't already have and have started to get myself organized. Trust me.. you will be better off for doing this. 4. Above all else.... if you get stuck or are unsure of anything, ask. There is always someone around to help.
fdepauls
Has anyone else had issues where their EQ report had the CA name as 660yc0000 or some variation of that? Seems odd. I have no idea who they are, Any ideas?
fdepauls
OK, back here for a quick question.I got a notification from myfico that my EQ score jumped, so I decided to pull the other 2 scores. On 1/8/2009 scores were EQ-585,TU-558,EX-615On 2/6/2009 scores are EQ-620,TU-681,EX-624Now the EQ and EX seem very possible, but the TU seems a bit much. I don't want to get my hopes up, but have others seen results like this before? I only ask because the lender I am going through stated once my mid score is 620 then I will be good to go for a loan. I am just worried my TU score is going to crash here in a couple days.Any thoughts? Thanks.
fdepauls
OK, I see TU totally wiped out my collections. I also paid off a loan a couple weeks ago also and my balance for it is 0.Still seems odd to me.
Denita
That large increase was probably due to your sudden good utilization! That is a very important part of the score and since you have a recent payoff, the score took a jump up - congratulations!
saint al
The last I checked my score was when I started almost a year ago next month, which was average out to between 600 and 700 for all 3. I purposely held back from getting an undate just to see what a years worth of effort has produced.
