OMGWhatHaveIdone
lIn Methuss' sticky here: http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=279838 He states that his form "makes them (the CRA) do the work". My question with regards to this is, by using this form letter, are we supposed to add a paragraph on what we think the inaccuracy is, or is that the "making them do the work" part? I'm a bit confused about this because I think the CRA may send a letter back asking me for clarification on exactly what about the TL I am disputing is.Or is this also part of the tactic in catching the CRA's on the violation that they verified the TL as accurate, in response to sending the letter?I just need some simple clarification before I start sending out letters regarding inaccuracies. nascar
I just need some simple clarification before I start sending out letters regarding inaccuracies.15 U.S.C. § 1681i(a)(1)(A) addresses disputes to the credit reporting agency. It says that the CRA must "determine whether the disputed information is inaccurate." In order to do that, the CRA must know what information is being disputed as inaccurate. Further, if you're serious about getting the information corrected, I would suggest that they also be made aware of what the correct information should look like and why. See 15 U.S.C. § 1681i(a)(3)(A).
OMGWhatHaveIdone
That clears it up for me. Thanks nascar! Unfortunately for me, it's duplicate TL's by the same OC for the same accounts. The credit report does not show the entire account number and I have no documentation showing full account numbers since I didn't think to keep anything but the paperwork showing the judgment entered. Will a CRA investigate even with a partial account number? How do I go about getting the entire account number?
