digging_out
Hi,Has anyone received anything from Asset Acceptance via UPS? I missed UPS today and the ticket says something from Warren MI so I am assuming its from Asset. They have been claiming they purchased an old MBNA acct of mine but when I requested debt validation they sent me a paper trail that makes no sense and doesn't even prove anything. They sent me a copy of an old MBNA statement that has a different acct number on it then they are saying is the debt they bought.Do you think this could be an NAF notification? Does Asset play the arbitration game too. Thanks for any insight or experiences. Should I keep 'missing' the UPS delivery person? Thanks Much
Robert Nashville/Savannah
I'm not an expert on arbitration but I suspect that only the original creditor has the right to require arbitration and only then because it's in the agreements...I highly doubt a subsequent could enforce that.Whether they can legally use arbitration or not, it is very rare that "avoiding" things results in a positive outcome - the sooner you accept whatever UPS is trying to deliver; the sooner you'll know what's going on and the sooner you can decide what the next step should be.
