badcreditsucks
I was just wondering should I dispute a BK that was recorded on 9/2003 with the hopes that it will get deleted? From what I understand it has to remain on credit report for 7 years or does it even matter if it is deleted or not due to it being on there for so long already? They are a matter of public record.
LadynRed
If you COMPLETED the CH 13 and got your discharge, then the CRA's have taken to deleting them at the 7 year mark. If you dismissed the CH 13 or didn't complete the plan, then you're stuck with it for 10 years.
OMGWhatHaveIdone
Ahh... Okay. Is there some rule that states they HAVE to do that? I thought all BK's stay on for ten years, regardless. I plan on completing my plan within the next four years. So would it be seven years from the date of completion or seven years from the initial date of filing, which in my case was 2/25/08? LadynRed
Okay. Is there some rule that states they HAVE to do that? No, they just do it, even though the FCRA says BK's can stay for 10.It's 7/10 years from FILING date.

Then again, we're refiling an amended plan within the next week. I'm assuming the new filing date will start to show up on my CR's.
