Fairy Enchantress
Can you be sued if you are not served a summons?I was just wondering because I have several old addresses on my credit report.
nascar
Depending on your particular venue, a summons can be issued in a number of ways, some of which do not require personal service. You'll want to check your local Rules of Civil Procedure to see exactly what is allowed.
Lecasbas
I think I would check your Courts online sites for each of the counties of your previous addresses for activity. Improper service can very well end up as a default judgment because you didn't know you were supposed to show up.In this way, you can be sued without receiving a summons.
