wrenchdevil
I have a collection account that I recently paid in full. It now shows up on my EQ report as paid in full...HOWEVER, it is:1. Stiil being reported specifically in the collections segment of the negaitive items information as a collection account2. Shows, "last payment date: 06/01/2009""My question are:Once a collection is paid, I can see it still being reported up as a negative account, but it seems it should NOT show as under the 'collections' section of 'negative information.Second question, and more importantly, How can a TL show a last payment date 6 months into the future, when it was paid in full last month? Thanks!D
Amerikaner83
Question 1 - doesn't matter if it's paid it still shows up as collection. It WAS a collection, yes? it shall stay taht way until it falls offQuestion 2 - it can't. Dispute it. Who knows maybe it shall fall off now? some CAs don't bother to verify a dispute if it's been paid.
Ravenous Wolf
Second question, and more importantly, How can a TL show a last payment date 6 months into the future, when it was paid in full last month? That, in a nutshell, is what credit repair is all about: finding a technicality and completely exploiting it. That is a bonafide error and it is best to take full advantage of it (there are plenty of credit repair veterans who wish they had something as golden as you have). This may be your best opportunity to get this deleted (because it legitmately should remain on your credit report for years to come).

This may be your best opportunity to get this deleted (because it legitmately should remain on your credit report for years to come).Would you think this is an error on the CRA's part or the CA who provide the information? Should I base my dispute with the CRA on who may be at fault for the incorrect nature of the TL? Or does that even matter? Just need to know how far my dispute letter should go!! I assume that if the dispute comes back verified, and doesn't go away or change, I should go after the CA for reporting incorrect information? I know this TL should stay on my report for a few more years, but I'd like to take advantage of the error, and get this TL removed as opposed to just 'corrected'. Thanks! scorch
It is the CA that is reporting it that way. The link in my siggy will explain the simplest way to get that baddy removed ASAP.
