Grace>Karma
Payments made on Visa regularly, but late occasionally & minimum amount last couple months. With late fees & over limit fees the balance is couple hundred over limit. Now receive letter from collection agency saying debt had been turned over to them. In position in a couple weeks to pay off balance. What are the chances the Visa issuer will let me keep card? Incidentally, it's Capital One & the collection folks are Alliance One.This isn't something that has been ignored and not payed and we've received regular bills right along. Thanks for any thoughts
Robert Nashville/Savannah
Well this "Visa" has obviously been a blessing in your life so I'm sure you can find a way to keep it!Sorry...not trying to be overly mean here but late fees and overlimit fees (and collection calls) and the like are serious WARNING SIGNS that a truly big problem is brewing - keeping the stupid credit card something you should seriously consider NOT doing. cap1kid
Your a cash cow for CRAP1. The favorite kind of customer. I bet the Credit Limit is low enough that they don't risk losing a bunch of money if you bail- but enough that you keep racking up fees. Good Luck! brit5467
I agree about CRAP1. Glad to know low limits are not just 'limited' to ME. They were the first card I could get after bankruptcy (a secured card) in the 90's. A little later on, they let me get another and eventually, they both became unsecured. I used them to build my credit and now 15 years later, I have plenty of credit, a high FICO, and keep out of trouble. I've got a WaMu card with a limit of $16,000!! But you know what my CRAP1's limits are? A measly $700 each. Even when I called and asked could they increase them, they said NO. That could only happen if they OFFERED more credit to me. I also asked if I could convert to those fancy, dancy ones they advertise on TV, with all the bells & whistles (points, etc.) and again was told NO. They had to OFFER that to me.Pooh on them. If it didn't hurt my FICO, I'd close both accts.
