lossuzy
I pulled my free annual credit report from Equifax on Jan 18th and disputed some items. One of the items was AFNI for a Verizon account. While waiting to hear back from them, I bought my Equifax credit score from MyFico. This was on February 8th. The report that I purchased from MyFico did not have the AFNI account on it. So, I assumed that they could not verify and deleted it. Well, yesterday I logged onto equifax.com and saw the results of my investigation. They verified the AFNI account. My question is, if it was taken off of my credit report, don't they have to notify me that they are going to put it back on?
cjtx
You pulled your report from myfico before the investigation was concluded. They have 45 days because you disputed out of a free credit report.Any intermediate results during the investigation period are useless. Your right to be notified of a reinsertion starts to run from the end of the dispute period.Sometimes CRAs "delete" an item (actually flag it) if there is no response from the data furnisher by a certain date during the investigation process, but as soon as it is verified, it is "reinserted" (actually, unflagged).CRAs usually fail to notify people about reinsertions, but not in this case.
