scorch
Hello,I would like to someday get the Chase Freedom rewards card. Back in January, I applied for the Chase Platinum card and was rejected. They said I did not have enough credit items open long enough in order to qualify.Would anyone happen to know how many open credit items and for how long I would have to have them open in order to qualify? Thanks. Amerikaner83
I"m not sure tbh - I'd think they look more for scores first, then other things.
cap1kid
I believe Chase pulls TU. I got a pre-approval for a Platinum MC card back in Dec. My scores at the time were around 620. I had paid off a Chase auto loan about 6 months prior (re-financed it after a few months). I got the Plat card with a 4000 limit- a month later I got denied for a Amazon/Chase visa card. I was able to call re-consideration and they gave me a 1000 limit-but decreased the plat. by 1000.
scorch
When I applied for the chase platinum, they checked Experian and around that time, my FICO score was about 664 with Experian, but they still denied me saying I did not have enough history. I mean I opened my first credit account in April of 2008.So, cap1, how many credit items did you have at the time of your approvals and for how long? cap1kid
I had some decent long reporting tradelines- a perfect auto loan from 10 years ago- still reporting on TU. I had a few chargeoffs from 2004. I'm thinking it was a fluke- that I got the card. The best credit card I had at the time was a $1000 secured NFCU visa which was about 9 months old. I had also fired all my junk cards (HSBC - Target etc)
