dpdubya
I have a Capital One account on my CR that my ex-wife opened in my name 8 years ago during our divorce... I have asked for proof that this is my account and only got the usual bank bs... It was being reported as an open account...even thought the last transaction on the account was in March of 2002... (the last time she made a payment with an old joint account we had).... and during that time, the CR stated that this account should disappear in April of 2009.... .. So suddenly no longer report it as open, but a write-off.... Can they keep this on my credit for another 7 years with this trick?.... I have never got a statement... and the account is not on their automated computer... What should I do?
cap1kid
Is it listed as a 'charge off' or a 'write off'? Is this negative account?
