Should I dispute inaccurate personal info first?

I pulled my credit reports and found that there are several variatons of my name (some not even my name), and several old addresses (some addresses in towns I've never heard of, much less lived in). There is even 1 variation of my social security number.

I've read to dispute these inaccuracies first, before disputing anything else.

Just want to do this right from the beginning! Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

That's what I did first beginning my credit repair journey. It helps you get used to disputing items.

I would start with the easy items first - name changes, address info., current employer, etc., and then move onto the accounts.

Good luck with everything!

I disputed everything all at once (names, phones, addresses, inquiries, accounts). Aside from Experian being less than helpful with the name change everything else was fine. I would recommend individual disputes though, rather than one big one. I did all the personal info online.

Thank you all for your advice! I had composed a few dispute letters, then would decide to go back and make changes based on what I read here.

Before finding this site, especially this forum, I thought my credit problems were going to last years! I want to buy a house in the next couple of years and I thought there would be no way! I've been so discouraged until now!

Thank you all!! I'm so much more excited about my future now!!
