Moog
Please excuse me if I have no clue here but um...I have no clue here! Trying to get everything in order before calling a CIC counselor for advice and noticed something which struck me as odd. While going through my past records (ie the heaps of papers I have shoved in various drawers!) I came across a collection notice from NCO Financial from 2006. When I cross referenced this account with my most recent credit report I found that both NCO and the OC have the date that this account was first reported as being 12/08. The OC's info states date of last payment as 2004 but date reported as 2008. Meanwhile NCO started trying to collect as early as 2006. What's going on here?! Wiser Now
You are talking about apples and oranges. The date of last payment is exactly that -- what the OC records reflect as the last time you paid. Generally, this is the date that determines when the SOL begins to run.The date reported is nothing more than the last time that data furnisher reported the status to the CRA.Those dates are entirely unrelated. It is possible that the last payment was in 2004, the CA initiated contact in 2006 and the date last reported was 2008.It could be entirely accurate. Or, it could be entirely wrong. You don't have enough facts to know for sure. Why does it make a difference?
