herepamwas
Hi all! I received a dunning letter from Med Rec Inc. stating that I owe 546.00 tri county ambulance for someone named Brandon. This isn't my debt at all! Should I DV them or just tell them to FOAD?
nascar
Call them on the phone and inform them of the mistake, but protect your future rights by sending the DV as well.
herepamwas
Well I just called them. What a experience. Apparently if they have an address and my maiden name that is enough to try to collect. I asked the lady why they were sending me this letter. She said we have an address and your name. I told her I didn't know anyone named Brandon then she says who is Lisa ****? I have no idea who this Lisa is. Then she says "Well Pam this isn't yours." I asked for a letter stating that and she said "No, we don't send letters like that." Then she tells me "I can't understand how we can be so right with the information we have and you don't know a Brandon." I tell her your information isn't that correct. I will be DVing them this week. Should I also DV/623 the ambulance company?
wahoo238
Regarding DV/623 to the ambulance company, there are no grounds per FDCPA unles they are collecting or reporting a TL. However that would not preclude you from a stongly worded letter attemping to make a good faith resolution, and may help you should you end up in litigation over the matter.
