Greetings! I'm new to the site, and I must say I love this site.

Need Help with REMOVING THIS 1 COLLECTIONS ACCOUNT FROM ALL BIG 3

My problem: THIS COLLECTIONS ACCOUNT, in which originated from a Sprint Cell phone bill.

I cancel services with OC, I made payments on the aCCOUNT every month to OC of $75.00 in which late charges was $75.00 every month also.

Last payment paid to the OC was on 7/07, IN WHICH THE CA LIST ON MY CR THEY HAD THE ACCOUNT ON 7/07.

I received a phone call from CA in the late month of 8/07 in regards to the bill. CA stated balance was $392.

I recently reviewed my records and the last payment to the OC never was credited to the account before it was sold to the CA.

Paid the CA $193.00 and was verbally told they will not report to CR.

I have tried to disputed it with all the 3 Bureaus. NO LUCK

I have tried a Goodwill Letter to Sprint. NO LUCK

I SENT A DEBT VALIDATION AND I'M WAITING ON THIS, GOT THE GREEN CARD TODAY I THE MAIL.

PLEASE ADVISE.

Thank You for that info. I sent the letter to the FCC in regards to this account with Sprint. I'm going to wait to hear back.

However, the collections agency sent me a statement stating only the amount they received in payment.

No dates, no beginning balance, therefore I sent them an second notice for dv.

Ok, this bill from Sprint was mainly from the early termination fees that cell phone companies charge that are outrageous! They charge me $200 for the cancel of service.

Today, I have learned that a way I could have got out of there contract without paying a penny.

Was! If the cell provider changes the terms of the contract

If your cell carrier changes the terms of the contract you signed, you can cancel your contract without paying any early termination fees.

If fact they change there fee of 150.00 to 200.00 on me.

But I did not know this at that time.

Many states require cell phone companies to give customers advance notice of contract changes which could increase the cost or extend the length of the contract. These cell phone companies must get consent from their customers before increasing the cost or extending the length of contract. This is only fair; why should you have to uphold the new terms of a contract you did not originally agree to?

On Jan 1, 2008, Sprint changed their terms of service and you can cancel your Sprint contract without any fees.

Although, my Sprint account is an July 2007, and the early term fees was sent to collections and was paid at a settlement of 340.00 vs. 392.

Is there anything legal way to remove this from my credit report because of new laws of early termination charges heavily penalizing customers violation of state law? In which I was wrongly charged?
