Lobo
Hello, I need to know what my options are in regards to disputing the DOLA(Date of Last Activity) with the CRAs on an account of mine. Let me preface by telling you I have already settled with the CA some time ago. When I pulled my credit report recently, it showed the DOLA at 2/2008. Well, I know for a fact my DOLA was around 9/2005. That date reflects the last payment I made with the OC. I realize that the DOLA can show up to 180 days past that time, but either way, the DOLA of 2/2008 is of course wrong. Clearly, the CA re-aged the debt. So, how can I dispute this error? Thanks!! wahoo238
Re-aging is when the OC/CA/JDB changes the date of delinqency starting the reporting clock in order to report longer than allowed. The 2008 last activity is likely the last time the TL was updated.
Lobo
Thanks for the response. Ok, that makes sense. The TL was updated at that time in 2008. So, if I'm understanding you correctly, the time of the last delinquency is still gonna be dated from 2005? That was when I stopped making payments. I just want to make sure that this account will drop after 2012 (7 years after). Thanks!
Robert Nashville/Savannah
Just a word of advice; any documents you have that show/support the correct DOFD may come in VERY handy in the future should there be any questions/problems in the future.
