dicemandan
All right I know that this information is in these forums. I have probably read all of the information. That being said my head hurts from trying to decipher exactly what needs to be done in my circumstance. I am on information overload I think. I have included what my credit report says and then I have some questions. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.Essentially I have a past due, closed account for 100$ from Embarq that is listed three times. Only one of which is current. The current collection agency:DEBT REC SOLOriginal Creditor: EmbarqAccount # 812926****High Balance 100$Date Opened: 11/01/2007Date Reported: 7/24/2008Balance: 100Condition: 02/01/2008Responsibility: IndividualDuplicate Account #1:ALLIED INTOriginal Creditor: EmbarqAccount # 4455****High Balance 100$Date Opened: 11/01/2006Date Reported: 1/22/2007Balance: 100Condition: 01/01/2007Responsibility: IndividualDuplicate Account #2:ENHANCED RECOVERY CORPOriginal Creditor: EmbarqAccount # 71277****High Balance 100$Date Opened: 05/01/2007Date Reported: 7/19/2007Balance: 100Condition: 01/01/2007Responsibility: IndividualI am willing and able to pay the current collection agency. My questions are this:1. Are the old collection agencies allowed to be on my credit report? Is it okay as long as they change the balance to O$?2. If they are not allowed to be on there I know I need to follow a dispute but on what grounds what do I put in the dispute to the CRA. I also assume I need to send the collection agencies a DV letter. The account #'s are all different yet I know that they all refer to one account.3. What the heck is the "condition" date?It seems like this would be a lot easier if they had to list the DOLA on the credit report. My wife has similar problems with her credit report so this will help me out with hers as well. And finally I know I am expected to extract what I am supposed to do from existing posts but if you will allow me this one indulgence I will try to focus a bit more in the future. I apologize. If someone could please explain how I tackle this problem I will forever be in their debt. Perhaps not a good cliche in this forum.
