BeatingMS
Okay we go to court next week with American Express. The original debt was about $2,000. Now it is over $5,000. They are willing to settle of course but the problem is we have no money to settle with.Would it be better for us to go ahead and go to court and let the judge decide the amount. Will he look at the charges and see that half of the debt is penalties and late fees and dismiss those. Or will he generically give them what they ask for.Yall are the smartest people I know and I have alot of respect for you. Please help me again.Thanx. admin
I would just fight the suit. Ask for discovery - and one of the items should be how the debt was calculated.
