sector7
Here is my dilio, 2yrs ago I was unemployed and came across an add in the classifieds about a truck driving school, I called them and was told that I can get my 3 weeks training for free because they will find me a job with a truck company and the company will pay for all my training. Well at that time sounded good, I needed a job so I went for it and signed the contract since I had to pay nothing out of pocket. At the end of the second week I was called to the office while on class and met with a financial advisor who told me that I needed 1000 to finish the training, I then as what do you mean and was told that they will give me a loan for 5000 to cover the training with an interest rate of 19% but I needed 1000 to finalized the process, I was shocked, I told them I don’t have 1000 that’s why im taking this training to make money, they said sorry you cant finish school without the money. I was never told this, I was mislead to believe it was free and the employer will pay for it once I get picked and it wasn’t like they told me. she said since I have already completed more than half of the training so I owed them full tuition of 5000 even without my license, what a scam artists, they waited till I finish more than half to tell me this just to lock me in. Because of this I was denied employment with the us border patrol and also lost my house, my damaged credit closed all doors of hope. I am thinking to sue them for this damage, can anyone please advise me if this is possible or at least does it sound I have a case at all?... Thanks to all replies in advance and sorry for my long post, hope you are still awake to reply.
bevj2
What happened exactly? Did they sue you in court and get a judgement against you? Have you consulted an attorney about this?
sector7
no judgement, nothing has happend on their part, I would like to remove this from my credit file as it is making it extremely impossible to move on. I defenately will gain nothing by ignoring this account so i am thinking to fight back to regain my credit, i guess i have nothing else to loose. As far as consulting an attorney i havn't I was actually considering doing this this week but decided to come here and ask the experts for advise before going to the next level. I will contact one on monday and keep you people posted should there is useful information for others. Take care....
