Capitol One Court Summons, but from Who ?

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I posted here but there have been a few developments lately I could use some advice on.

I won't bore you with all the details again, I'll just say that I received a summons to go to court next February naming Cap. One Bank in the Plaintiff's box and Solomon and Solomon P.C. as the Plaintiff's attorney.

As you read the summons it states "This communication is from a debt collector, blah blah, blah"

It was filed in my town's Small Claims Court.

The instructions on the back say that "The Defendant is not required to file an answer." so I thought I would just go to court in February and hope for the best.

Fast forward to yesterday. I received from the "Attorney's Office" a copy of a form sent to the Court asking to have the case dismissed without prejudice.

First question, was this a legitimate case brought by Cap. One or a Debt Collector ?

Second, why dismiss it ?

I'm a bit confused.
