uniqueevents
Hi everyone, I'm new, my name is Samantha. I recently tried to go through In Charge Debt Solutions and they can't help me because most of my debt is in collections and has been, obviously, unpaid for quite sometime. Now they want me to go through a workout program with Debt Relief Center and I don't feel like I should. I was young and stupid and got into a lot of debt, now I need help learning how to fix it. How to I start paying back my debts so I can avoid getting my CA frozen or being sued? Thank you
BrokeBob
Hi Samantha, and welcome to the club. It's hard to say what you should do. The strategy I am using now is completely different from the strategy when I first joined. First, I was going to try to settle everything and work everything out with the creditors. That didn't work out very well. Then, I was going to file for bankruptcy. Finally, I discovered ways ON THIS WEB SITE to fight the debt collectors. So, instead of negotiation or bankruptcy, I'm fighting. If you have debts that are already in collection, have the CA (collection agencies) contacted by mail within the past 30 days? If so, if you send them a DV letter, they are not allowed to contact you until they validate. Many do so anyway, but they are in violation of the law. So, DV all the collection agencies. Also, read up on the posts about arbitration. It will be confusing at first, but it can keep you from getting sued without you having to pay the CAs. Then, you can decide on your strategy. If you have enough money to settle, you have the upper hand at that point. If not, well, read the forums to see what to do then.
