RJM Acquistions

Recommended Posts

In 2007 I opened a joint checking account at Wachovia with my fiance. We overdrew, and as a result acquired a debt. I settled in 2008 after the debt was sold to RJM Acquisitions. The problem is: there was a duplicate debt. It was not the exact amount as the first, but pretty close. I found out about it only after calling them again after not receiving a letter stating my debt was paid. They say that this checking account was opened in 2001- I was barely in high school, and didn't even know my fiance. So, I sent them a debt validation letter as soon as they finally sent me a letter about it- 2 months ago. I have not heard back from them, nor have I received anything about the debt I paid off. Can someone please tell me what I can do to get this off my credit? I can not get a checking account because of this mess.

Go ahead and send RJM a DV letter... also send it to the home addresses of their managing members:

I'm willing to bet the account gets dropped like a hot potato.

Also dispute with Chexsystems ASAP once you get your report.

I sent RJM a DV 2 months ago- no reply!! @ nascar: I am aware it was reported by Wachovia, but if no one will realize I never opened an account in 2001, what am I supposed to do? And I paid the one debt I really did owe, and never received a confirmation. I had another debt that I paid off, and received a confirmation for that one immediately. It's been over a year since I paid it off. Someone please help! I am at the end of my rope!!
