motherofkandb Posted December 9, 2009 Report Share Posted December 9, 2009 I was sucessful in getting a utility bill that was being collected by CCI (contract callers) removed from my CR through DV. My question is, now what? I know that the pay off balance was completely incorrect (thus the basis for the DV). I'd suggest you call the utility and give them the old "...oh gee, forgot all about this, what a dummy I am, can I just send you a check...and, oh, by the way, call of the CA". What if the utility tells me that they don't have a record of my past due balance? How do I negotiate a settlement if they say that don't have the records?
