pulpfiction
As virtually every call from a debt collector is filled with FDCPA violations, I've been looking into purchasing a recording device--particularly one that will download the audio file to my computer (to include on a CD with the ITS to the collector!)I've looked into the $100 sony/olympus mp3 output recording devices. While they're nice, I've found a much more economical alternative--the Sandisk Sansa Clip mp3 player. Yes, it's a pretty typical mp3 player (perhaps even better than an iPod)..but also has a GREAT recording feature! Just select the 'record' and you're set. Then connect it to your PC via the USB cable, and your recording will pop right up (in .wav format, which can easily be converted to mp3).You can find a basic 1gb on ebay for ~$20, or the 4gb for around $30. GH0104
I've been too cheap to shell out the $$ for a recorder; I just use the sound recorder program that came with Windows Vista, plug in a microphone to the computer & talk on speaker phone. It actually records quite nicely!I don't know if I can convert to mp3, though...I'll have to check it out. DFS
I use program called audacity. Just like GH0104 says use a microphone to record. AND it does convert to mp3 - been using it for years for other things but it sure did work perfect when I needed to start recording JDBs. The web page is http://audacity.sourceforge.net/Good luck.
