gorper999
Back to my original question. Is it smart to do a call back and hope they hang themselves,or just ignore and hope they will quit calling. As far as I know,I do not have any unpaid debts. willingtocope
Can you record calls in WI? If so, go for it...
1stStep
Call them back, maybe they will violate. Then sue for your $1k.
PupnCub
Wisconsin is a One party recording law, so you do not have to tell the collection agency that you are recording the conversation, and if you do call them (which they are just scum anyway) do not give them any inclination that you are recording. They will only speak to you if you first verify your social security number with them, if you don't then they start in with the typical abusing banter. I would call them just to get them to violate the FDCPA, play the stupid consumer and get them to violate the FDCPA; then contact an NACA Attorney, which there happens to be on in Rochester NY right behind the building that this collection agency operates out of. gorper999
Well,I got the letter from EOS CCA on Saturday. This is a US Cellular phone bill. Now get this,I cancelled this account in February after being a customer for 15 years.I had to quit working because of a disability and have to try and lower some bills.Got my bill in March and did not pay anything until April 21st.Got my first call from EOS CCA on the 21st also.I have never in my life heard of anyone turning a bill in to CA when only 30 days past due.Sent Email to USCell. but of course have not gotten a reply.Am going to send a letter off to them CRRR and tell them what I think. rochesternygal
I think it's a very good idea to deal with these guys via CMRRR only. I had dealt with these guys about 8 years ago when they were known as Rochester Credit Bureau and they had sent me a dunning letter for two debts that never even belonged to me. One was a hospital bill for a hospital that I had not been to for 17 years and the other was for Rochester Telephone that had been bought out before I had even turned 18! Being young and not knowing about debt collection, I called them and told them that there must have been a mistake and they just told me that it was too bad and that this was the info that the creditors had given them and that it was going to show up on my CR in 30 days if I didn't pay their CA. Well, I called the hospital and the Co. that had bought out Rochester Tel. - guess what - neither one of them had given Rochester Credit Bureau any info on me - these were bills that had always belonged to my mother and they had given them her info only, but since Rochester Credit Bureau wasn't getting money from her fast enough, they had decided to try to threaten the money out of me! Now, they're EOCCA, and I can tell you that they've only gotten worse. They have called my house for my husband and myself relentlessly, but we have yet to see one letter from them in the mail. Considering that EOCCA is in the same city as we are - mail should be to us within one day, but apparently, they must not feel the need to send mail to "the locals". Remember to document everything with these guys. I would try to show proof that the bill has been paid (without showing any checking acct/debit card, etc.) info to them. Also, if you do happen to call them, I can tell you from experience that even if you block your number, they can still see your number and they pull your account from that info. I see someone stated that your state is a OPS - so is NY, so you are covered both ways if you want to record them. Good luck!

sjr1016a
Hello, the company EOS CCA has showed up on my credit report (on behalf of AT&T Mobility and Asset Management) and I have sent a validation letter asking them to validate. They sent me what looked like a fictitious bill with my current address on it. It definitely looked like some copying and pasting went on so I sent them a second validation letter and they responded with a collection bill saying that I owe them for their client Asset Management. They have not satisfied the validation process. I would really like to see how they will come up with a contract with my signature from AT&T. Now that will be a neat trick!Has anyone had any luck with these people? I never heard from them until I asked for validation. They just put the debt on my credit report and never sent any correspondence until I contacted them for validation.:confused:It's been a while siince you posted. Any luck with this situation? lbbk
This company also put an AT&T bill on my husband's credit report several months ago and he has never had AT&T. We have never gotten anything in the mail from them. They just put it on his report and never called us. I have sent them 2 debt validation letters that I got off this website and I have gotten no response from them. I disputed the item on his credit report and it came back as verfied. It does have that the debt is disputed by consumer, but it still remains on there and I cannot get any response at all from them. I don't know what else to do, so I'm hoping someone on here gives you advice that could help me too.
WhoCares1000
Send EOCCA a 623 letter stating that they either have to verify the debt to you or remove it from your credit report. If that does not work, find a decent NACA lawyer and start the lawsuit process against EOCCA and the reporting company.
bluefunk
Just received a call from some ghetto chick from 8007043422. woman immediately threatened to blacklist me if I didn't agree to talk to her. The bill they have is invalid and already paid to US Cellular. (seems like US Cellular may be involved in this scam). After calling back and being told off by the rep calling (shinay?) and her 'manager" they hung up on me. I tried to call back and now they are playing phone games and immediately hanging up once i connect. I DID locate a direct line to them, and they are located in Rochester, NY. The direct line is 585-256-6060. This **** needs to stop and the company shut down. I'm ready to drive to Rochester and handles these idiots myself

QueenOfWormz
I have been receiving repeated calls from this place too. I can't ignore them forever but I know exactly how the conversation will go if I answer. There is absolutely no reason they should be contacting me. I actually recently got a call from somewhere else saying I owe them almost $400. After 3 hours on the phone contacting all types of different companies including my old bank (HSBC - worst bank ever) I got no answers. All I found out was it was accrued from MY account with a PLATINUM credit card. I have NEVER owned a platinum card, or a credit card period! I have no credit, just out of college, drowning in loans and other bills with a low-paying job so this is all just frustrating and annoying! Is there a legitimate government website or agency that can help me clear my name from all of these spams?? >
