abby24
Background:Settling with crap1 and they said they will report it as "diputed" instead of deleting it.Does the disputed account still hurts my credit report. Should I just have them request to remove the tradeline prior to an agreement? Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated. willingtocope
"Disputed" TLs are not supposed to be figured into FICO scores. Whether that's true or not is questionable.Did you get your agreement with Crap 1 in writing? If not, they may not abide by whatever was said... abby24
They said once I agree they will send me a signed agreement...so you think it should be alright to accept it ?
willingtocope
I'd say "send me the agreement first, then I'll decide if I accept it".If it ain't in writing (or telephone recorded), it didn't happen. They will say anything to get you to cough up money.Things you want to look for...1.) will this settle the complete debt. 2.) will they sell the balance to a JDB. 3.) will they issue a 1099c? 4. ) what happens to your CR when you've paid the amount you've agreed to?
