Ok y'all...after being censored by Squeaker for the last month...she's finally letting me post pics of our house! BofA called earlier and we got final approval to close on Friday. So either tomorrow or Thursday we're gonna sign the papers, and take the keys Friday night :-)

The stuff like the couch and big screen isn't staying with the house...but the hot tub sure as hell is. :-)

This is all thanks to Creditinfocenter. Several years ago, when I first started with this whole thing, I was sitting at 450 FICO. NOW, I qualified for this house with a Mid score of 680 with 2 collections on my report (one of which is completely gone in the last month). That same 680 two weeks ago is now a 746 (EQ). YOU CAN DO IT! I have been doing it on and off since 2006 (mainly off in the last year or two, tbh). Now I only have 2 baddies TOTAL. Not 2 on each report...2 total. One paid on EX dropping off in 8 months, and one unpaid on TU.

I got a great rate on a wonderful house...life is good!

HOLY ****IN ****, FOOL!! Nice house!!! Congratulations!!!

I was in the same boat. Had absolutely NO credit, just some collection accounts. I was able to do a 180 with the help of people here on CIC.

I actually just bought a house up here in one of the nicer parts of Denver! My middle FICO score was 725 and I was able to get locked in at 5%!!!

This only proves that anyone can do anything they set their minds to and conversing with people with the same goals and interests is a nice plus as you're on your way. :D

Troofer... I think we're in it. I think too that it is not that simple. For example... The seattle market typically lags the national one in trends by about a year or more. Also... The higher tier markets with the 3500 to 5000 square foot homes that in the seattle area are over the half million dollar mark have more give than the ones under 300 k. It wholly depends on the specifics of the area and region. Nationally home activity has gone up and the national association of realtors is touting it as housing recovery over... Not at all. Activity will show higher since the tax credit folks are now under contract. Some people will tell you that with the tax credit over, all we did was move up the summer buying reason to spring. I agree to a point. But overall it depends completely on the situation in your area.

Congrats. Nice pad! And I think your assessment of the state of housing market is dead on. Every area is different. Nationally, probably in the trough, but we need incomes to start moving before we see substantial increases in values. What we need is a decade of stable (flat) prices so people can get accustomed to building equity the old way- by paying down the note. And it'll give millions of people an opportunity to buy an affordable home.

My grandmother has already planned colors and what not i'm sure! :) I think if we do anything color wise it'll be to tie in the red kitchen and green in the family room.

Did the final walk through monday night... All is looking good. :) we sign the docs and pay our money tomorrow, and get keys on friday :)

Your house looks amazing! Congrats! Looks like everyone is getting a house now - I'm in the process and should know of Monday if I got it for sure - waiting to hear back about the appraisal. Awesome, awesome, awesome house again!

Congratulations on your new house! I have few questions, did you have to get any "disputed" verbiage/comment on any of your acount to be removed before you got approved for the loan? If so, how did you do it?

Congratulations on your new home! It's beautiful! Thank you for posting and giving many of us some needed inspiration! I know for myself, that the CIC has been a wonderful resource, to help us get out of the mess we are in.
