I live in Omaha NE

and it was the financial assistance program the hospital has. My family and I qualified at 90% that included all the old bills at collections and New one's still with the hospital. I have 6 accounts at the CA (4 on my husbands CR and 2 on mine totaly about 2k) I recieved a letter from the hospital telling me I recieved a 90% reduction My new balance is $167. ( I can pay in full) They said I will need to contact the CA to pay make payment arrangements. BUT what about all of the things listed on my CR? Wll they need to remove them now? or update them? I don't know where to go from here!

Thanks

Jen

You won't have to pay taxes on this. NYS hospitals have similiar program and here it is called 'charity care' WRT to the stuff on the CR once you pay it in full it should be marked as such. Or you could ask for deletion.
