1hottchic
I was in the middle of writing my goodwill letter for ACs when I came across your past. I had originally planned to send the letter via snail mail. If you could provide me with the contact information for ACS I would appreciate it.Also, congrats on getting them to clean up your trade line, I am hoping to have similar results from a 60 days passed due I obtain while in between jobs. Thanks,LuckybobLuckyboy,Thanks a clean credit report is amazing! The ACS contact information that I was lucky (no pun intended) to come about has helped me tremendously in cleaning up my student loan tradelines. Now if I could have the same luck with Sallie Mae (uurrgh).Anyway check your PM and good luck.NYQutie
moosie
I was able to get Sallie Mae to do a goodwill adjustment. It took several calls and several letters it also helped that I signed up for automatic debit with them. Hopefuly this helps you!ditto. Between that and consolidating my student loans, they were very easy to work with and get my accounts to all be reported 100% +. They even sent me a letter that I could give to the CRAs in case they didn't remove/update or stated that they verified the delinquencies.I found that an apologetic and gracious attitude will get you twice as far as a combative excuse making one will. hopefulscambeater.
Well, that's great, I've had ongoing issues with them for some time, they "say" they have it fixed (still in school) but keep saying 120+ behind and just found a CA doing a HARD Inquiry on that.........at least ten times I was "told it will be fixed- SO sorry for the mistake" only to check my Credit Report and find they NEVER did anything at all! What's worse best I can tell these are "Private Loans" I never was told were not Fed Student Loans! I'm certain they KNOW when you're in school SL can't be "past due" ....yet they say one thing to me and do the opposite over and over agian

Hopefuly this helps you!ceretta,It is reassuring to know that a good will letter has worked with Sallie Mae. If you don't mind sharing via PM (if you feel more comfortable) the address and contact in which you sent your letters to. If you have a specific name and number of the person you spoke with that would help as well. These late payments are over 5 years old and I have already paid my loans with Sallie Mae I was hoping to have the lates removed sooner than the 7 year reporting period.Any help you can provide would be wonderful. Thanks
luckybob
Thank you nyqutie, I got your PM and the contacts. I went ahead and sent a letter to every contact (personalized each one). 2 of the contacts gave me a bounce back, but the rest should be enough.I got responses back pretty fast from a few people who are trying to help me. Some of the are transferring me to different departments, so my fingers are crossed there. As far as the contact you used, they are proving to be uncooperative. Here is the email response:Mr. Luckybob,I have thoroughly reviewed your account history and the terms of your promissory note. Unfortunately, ACS Education Services is unable to accommodate this request. When servicing your loan, we are required to abide by Federal Regulations which require we report delinquencies to the Major Credit Bureaus when an account becomes 60 or more days past due. ACS, as the servicer, does not have the authority to deviate from those regulations. We are contractually obligated to your lender to report accurate information. I can certainly provide a letter stating you brought your account current. On behalf of the Education Services Management Team, we appreciate your diligent effort to repay your student loan account. If I can be of further assistance please feel free to contact me directly.Respectfully,**********Sr Research & Legal Support Spe******tFinancial Services GroupACS, A Xerox Company501 Bleecker StUtica NY 13501I am going to formulate a response and try to change their minds. Hell it is the exact same person that helped nyqutie, so I know they can do it.I will posted back when I get more information.
luckybob
I sent a reply to ACS and they are passing my information onto the lender. They will be in touch as soon as they hear from the lender. I will update if I hear from any of the other contacts as well.

They will be in touch as soon as they hear from the lender. I will update if I hear from any of the other contacts as well.Too many people in the last 6 months have contacted my contact I'm sure. When I received the information it had been over a year since her contact information had been passed around. It took me weeks to track down an original poster who might still have the information and since she had not been active on the forum I found the post it was hard. It was a fluke that one of the original people who received the information had her email attached to her profile and I took a chance and emailed her and she was nice enough to both respond and forward me the information.Perhaps I will slow down providing the contact information so not to make it harder for others in the future.Perhaps contacting others is the best shot at getting your information removed.Good Luck
luckybob
The contact is very nice and has agreed to pass the information to the lender to see what can be done. Also I have a few other email chains going with some of the other contacts you provided.I am crossing my fingers to get this removed. If I manage it my FICO will break 700, so I am really pressing to get this removed. It is my only negative trade line.
NickTemt
I tried to get Iowa Student Loan to give me a goodwill adjustment. My situation was I was gone on initial active duty training with the Army, and my Auto payment didn't go through for two months. So I have a 30 day late and a 60 day late for May & June of 2010. I had no control over that because I had no access to my phone or the internet. And they told me that I couldn't get a goodwill adjustment because then they would have to extend the same courtesy to all of their consumers. Not only that, they wouldn't give me a military deferment because I was not activated for "war efforts".So I'm screwed out of about 60 points from my credit score for 2 years now. hopefulscambeater.
I would ask to see "these Regulations requiring they report that as claimed as fact" the only truth I DO see is they are required to report ACCURATE information IF THEY Choose To Report at all-- being "required by Fed Regulations to report ANYTHING is "news to me" and I'd bet they can't put up when confronted .........we are required to abide by Federal Regulations which require we report delinquencies to the Major Credit Bureaus
luckybob
So my communications have gone dry at ACS, all my emails refereed me to the initial contact who said she would check with the original lender to remove late payments. I went ahead and contacted Chase, the original student loan lender, and they are now removing my 60-Day late status (which will take 10-14 days according to them). Once they update this, then I will just show ACS the letter and updated credit report to get them to remove the 60-day if they don't already based on Chase's decision. Thanks for all the help with the contacts and they great information.
