I disputed both of the items above earlier in late April. It was removed from Equifax and Experian but came back as “verified” on Transunion.

I’ve been reading up on Debt Validation and Pay for Delete. I thought the first step was DV but now I’m thinking that it’s best to just ask for PFD first so as to “make things easier” for the collector since they don’t have to validate and they receive payment so they are more likely to agree to it. Does this sound right? Or should I just send a DV first? :<img src=:'>

The debt is for two utility type bills (phone and cable I think) so there is no signed written contract that I remember (though maybe for cable there was, I don’t remember). I lived in Alaska at the time and now live in CA so I’m not sure what SOL applies but I think at this point the SOL have run out for both states so I have that on my side. They are due to fall off my report in May of next year but I’d like it off sooner (much sooner) if possible.

Sooo…. should I DV first? Or go for the PFD first and if they don’t agree to it, THEN DV?

This is all starting to make my head spin... 88-) Help!
