AAFES settlement problem

So I went to a local credit union bank and got a credit card to consolidate my debt. I got some checks for the card and went to the AAFES customer service on post. I wrote them a check for the remaining balance, everything I thought was good, I paid off my star card and brought the balance to a lot cheaper percentage rate. Then a month later I received a letter in the mail saying that my check was cancelled because apparently the credit union had sent out a check for AAFES themselves on my behalf, without my knowing. I went online and my balance is taken care of, but theyre garnishing my wages for the amount of the returned check, even though it didnt clear and obviously they didnt get the money, so why am I paying it? I have called them maybe a dozen times or more, the last time I called I talked with a supervisor and explained the situation to them, they said the garnishments will stop and obviously they didnt as says my next LES. I have maybe a month to get this figured out before my unit deploys, so time is kinda scarce. What should I do? I just feel like I've tried everything and Im hoping one of you guys got some insight for me, I would greatly appreciate it, and so would my family. I'm definitely trying to get something back from them for putting me through all this as well. Thanks!

I don't know the real answer but in the past, I had a situation where I contacted the bank or CU in your case and got them to write a letter explaining and showing that it was not your doing and it was quite helpful in getting the situation corrected.

VBC ;o)

Take it from a retired gunny. Soldier there is this intity in the military called JAG go see them and see if they can help. AAFEES and the Star card dont play around because they can garnish yer wages easily from the check they know you are getting.
