Has anyone ever received false 1099's from a cc or mortgage company?

I ask because a 1099 was issued in my name from a certain bank I won't name right now claiming a credit card debt was settled for a card that I paid in full.

Also from the same outfit there was an interest statement filed for a mortgage that I also never had.

I never received copies of these documents.

I only learned about them by the IRS sending me the copies along with other info I asked for.

IRS said write to these places and explain the situation.

I did so, sent certified mail to the addresses on the 1099 statements and received NO response back.

I am especially concerned about the mortgage statement because of ID theft.

I am worried there is a loan or property in my name I don't even know about.

What do I do now after being ignored?
