KCG116
What do you do if an individual person has a judgment against you and that person is nowhere to be found to be paid? Edited August 15, 2010 by KCG116 Grammar
WhoCares1000
Go to the courthouse and pay the court clerk who then has to find the creditor. Make sure you get a satisfaction of judgment form once you have paid.As for the creditor, if they do not claim the money after a year, it will be sent to the State's unclaimed property division. Guest usctrojanalum
Go to the courthouse and pay the court clerk who then has to find the creditor. WOW, you must have really nice court clerks/system where you are from. If you tried that out here the court clerk would look at you like you had 17 heads and be like it is not my problem lol
WhoCares1000
Actually, I forgot something. First look up the attorney on record and contact them. You can pay the attorney too and it is the attorney's job to find their client. Most attorneys are still in business and as such findable. In MN, if you pay a judgment and the other party does not file a satisfaction of judgment, as long as you have proof, you can file it yourself. Finally, if the attorney nor the court clerk can take the money, I would file a motion on the court requesting guidance on the issue and serve if on the plaintiff attorney. The court then should be able to guide you on what to do. Just make sure to do a diligent search for the creditor, including in BK filings and the like.
