timtim
I have a collection account that just reached the 7 year mark according to my last months credit report. However, i just pulled a new report a few minutes ago and its showing that this ca was opened in Feb 2009. What the hell??? Can i dispute the "opened date" through the CRA's and have it removed. Shouldn't I have it removed anyways because it really has been 7 years? What should I do??Thanks,Tim
thomassl
I would leave it alone for just a little while...maybe 30 days after the 7 yr. mark! When mine reached the 7 yr. mark, I noticed that it did not dissappear until 30 days afterwards. If you dispute it now, it could "wake the sleeping dogs" as the CRA's have to contact the agency for verification! Wait the 30 days afterward then check.
