mentalcompass
QUESTION FOR A SEASONED CREDIT REPAIRPERSON. I have two medical bills for my child for an ER visit 11-2.06. At the time, we lived in California and were visiting Florida. She had Medi-Cal but they didn't collect through them. These bills are now with the junk debt buyer Shafritz and Braten PA. They reported this as a collection as of Jun,09. As I understand, the date they should be reporting is 180 days after the debt was originally due, which would be May 07, thus putting a great deal more age on this debt. What do you recommend? Challenging this with the credit bureau for an illegally aged debt (what do you call that, I need a sample letter), or writing the collection agency and asking for debt validation. Need some advice.
