osmonxp
Can a monthly statement be considered validation of debt? A layer acting as a CA sent me a collection letter and off-course I replied back with a request for validation, a week later they replied back with a copy of my monthly statement and a note that reads:Kindly be advised that the verification of debt sent to you conforms will all aspects of the law. What do you guys think and what should I do next? Recovering Attorney
The CA only need send you what the client gave it. However, lawyers can't go chasing lousy debts, either. If this is not yours, tell him that. If you think there is another impediment, such as no notice of the assignment or the SOL has run, tell him that to. I.e., put the lawyer on notice that this is not going to be easy without proof.
esterlydsl1
Probably the lawyer is used to take advantage of the ignorance of many common people. You have every right to make a complaint against him. Moreover, it is presumed that you must be knowing that are you actually under any sort of debt, and if you are not, then stop worrying about it.
