mrmac913
I have a judgment on my credit report which I know has been paid and satisfied. I sent a letter to Cohen & Slamowitz requesting a satisfaction letter and a request to notify their client ( Midland Funding) and the courts making them aware of the "paid" status of the judgement. It's been more than thirty days and I have yet to receive a response. Is there a 30 or 45 day limit for a response or am I just at their mercy regarding a reply? Guest usctrojanalum
Judgments are public records and Cohen and Slamowitz did not put it on your credit report. What you should do is check the county clerks office and check if a satisfaction of judgment was filed. If it was, then you can then retrieve it yourself pretty easily. If it was not send a letter telling them to file it. Under the CPLR C&S should have filed the satisfaction of j within 30 days of it being paid off, if they did not they can be fined $
