NOlegalese
Hey guys and gals,I need a some of your insight dealing with this case. I am being sued in the state I lived in previously (GA). I moved several months ago to the Northeast. I have not received the summons nor has my ex-roommate at my previous place of residence. I found out through the court website. What do you think is the appropriate course of action??? I read about the unscrupulous tactics used by some process servers, so I'm worried that they'll just leave it on the doorstep of my previous residence and claim it was properly served. I don't want a default judgement against me...so I need to know how best to tackle this situation, should I DV the Collection Agency? or do something else? Any help/insight is very appreciated. Guest usctrojanalum
Did the cause of action arise in GA? If yes, tell them where you are living and make them serve you where you are now, will cost a bunch load more money.
